How to Farm on StakerDAO w/Pictures!
Hi all! Today I staked on the StakerDAO farms, and it was actually my first time farming on Tezos! So I decided to document the process with photos to help simplify anyone else's first-time farming with StakerDAO, Tezos, or just in general. And let me tell you it was quite easy, and I was done within 5 minutes. So let me jump into it:
Step 1: Providing Liquidity
Now, this was actually the hardest step for me to figure out, as I had never done this in the past. So before you try to connect your wallet to stake, you will need to go to Quipuswap( https://quipuswap.com/ ) to obtain liquidity. Below is an example of what you will see.
You want to select the “invest” tab and then connect your wallet in the top right corner. Remember theStakerDAO farms accepts MetaMask, Beacon (which includes Temple Wallet, Spire, Galleon, and Kukai Wallet), and WalletConnect.
Once your wallet is connected you will be able to “invest.” Here you will deposit Tezos and select the Token you would like to Deposit. Remember your options for StakerDAO farms are: XTZ/wXTZ, XTZ/STKR, XTZ/kUSD, ETH/wXTZ, ETH/STKR. As you can see below I decided to go with XTZ/STKR.
You will click “Add Liquidity” once you have added the values of how much you would like to farm. Now you are good to go and your LP tokens will transfer into your wallet that you will connect to StakerDAO farms!
***Note that it may take roughly 5 minutes for the Liquidy to process from Quipuswap to your wallet, to StakerDAO. So before moving on to the next step I recommend taking a quick break.
Now head on over to StakerDAO farms at farm.stakerdao.com for the next step! You are halfway there!!
Step 2: Connect Your Wallet
Now that you have LP tokens you are ready to farm! Go to farm.stakerdao.com to get started!
Your screen should look like this. Before you are able to “Stake” you are going to want to select “CONNECT WALLET” in the top right corner. As you see you will have three options. Remember Beacon includes Temple Wallet, Spire, Galleon, and Kukai Wallet.
I personally have a Temple Wallet, so I selected Beacon and then selected Temple Wallet, as you can see below. ***note you need to have the wallet extension installed on your browser to select it
Now you just have to select the wallet you want to connect, and you will receive a pop-up that looks like the one below and will want to physically click “‘connect.” Make sure your wallet is currently open in your browser as well to successfully connect the two.
It may take a few minutes for it to connect but the second it does you will get a “success” pop-up like the photo below!
If for any reason your connection was denied, go through the above steps one more time. If it still does not seem to work you can receive support by messaging any and all questions you may have in the StakerDAO discord in the “Farming” channel. You can find that here: discord.gg/cnuFcv67z2
Step 3: Stake!!
Now that your wallet is connected and you have LP tokens in your wallet, you are ready to be a true StakerDAO farmer! Here’s how you do it:
First, you will want to select the farm you will want to Stake in. As noted above you must have the LP tokens for that farm, so I will be staking with the XTZ/STKR farm.
The farm will do you the amount you have to Stake. You are able to max out by selecting the “Max” button or you can input your own amount. In this round, I decided to stake 13 XTZ/STKR. After you select “STAKE” there will be an additional pop up to confirm operations like below:
Once you select “Confirm” all you have to do is wait! But your LP tokens should be officially staking in the farm. Once the transaction has gone through you will receive another pop-up that says “success” similar to when you connected your wallet.
And just like that, your tokens are staked!! And if you are looking to unstake them at any point by selecting the farm you have staked in and going to the “Claim tab.” You will be able to select “claim” to receive any STKR that the farm has generated or “claim and unstake” to receive the STKR and also your original LP takes you staked.
